After you made up your mind to participate in the
ISHPPSSB & ABFHiB 2017 meeting, it is time to decide where you are going to
stay, in São Paulo.
No Brazilian university offers sufficiently large
in-campus accommodation for conference participants.
The Brazilian organizing committee will provide a
list of hotels and hostels within walking distance to the Yellow Line of the
subway, including the neighborhoods of “Pinheiros” (“Faria Lima” and
“Pinheiros” stations), and “Jardins” (“Paulista” and “Consolação” stations).
The neighborhoods of “Vila Madalena” and “Clínicas” are also good options to
stay (stations with the same name, in the Green Line of the subway). The local
organization will provide a shuttle service to IB-USP from several of those
Middle comfort hotels (3 stars, such as those of
Ibis/Accor) at those neighborhoods cost about R$250,00 per day (about
US$100.00), including a generous breakfast, in individual rooms with private
bathroom. The cost of shared rooms (2 or 3 people) is about R$150,00 to
R$100,00 per person per day (about US$60.00 to US$40.00), including breakfast.
There are hotel options above and below this price, which will also be
suggested to the participants.
We will suggest several nice hotels and hostels not
very far from the conference venue. The list of suggested hotels and hostels
will be available in the beginning of 2017.
Students may be willing to use the unpretentious
accommodation available at the University of São Paulo. USP has an
accommodation facility for students in CEPE-USP, with capacity for 60 people,
distributed in 6 rooms with 7-9 bunk beds each. There will be separate rooms
for men and women. The dorms are served by two large bathrooms (one female and
one male) with 8 showers in each. The cost of lodging is R$35.00/day (about US$12.00).
